Terry Dash Music is a booker and promoter of live entertainment for theatres, festivals and concert venues, with a select roster of quality artistes and shows. But what about the man behind the successful music entertainment business, Terry Dash himself?
Although Terry Dash Music now has a wide variety of touring shows, Terry originally developed a passion for jazz music after hearing a Louis Armstrong record while still at school. His young days were spent in jazz clubs and on the cricket field, where he played for Essex Second XI and Cambridgeshire CC. Terry was fortunate enough to make many visits to New Orleans, where he made numerous contacts and was asked to arrange tours for American musicians and bands in Europe, and his business grew from there.
Terry also has had experience in the publishing and merchandising side of the business. In the early 1980s Terry became involved with The London Ragtime Orchestra as booker and manager. He also worked with Norman Meadmore Ltd in arranging shows at the leading theatres in the UK. Among these shows was the highly successful ‘A Night At The Cotton Club’, which toured extensively, including opening week at the Symphony Hall, Birmingham, and numerous sellouts at the Barbican Centre. Another memorable concert starred the legendary Artie Shaw at the Royal Festival Hall.
Terry feels he has been privileged to work with so many talented artistes over the years and he retains his enthusiasm and commitment to present the very best entertainment for his clients. Today our shows range from swing, rock ‘n’ roll, country and western, and soul: a broad base which includes some of the most eye-catching acts around today.
Terry Dash Music has been involved in hundreds of shows, and looks forward to many more years of bringing top quality entertainment to the general public.
